Cantina Del Barrio translates to 'Neighbourhood Canteen' which was essentially the brief from the client. Q&A were commissioned to design the Mexican Restaurant, bringing the South American laid back vibe to Cheltenham and complimenting the rich flavours of Mexico.

    The interior design at Cantina Del Barrio maximises affordable materials and delivers them in a rustic and considered aesthetic with a nod to cultural motifs but not consumed by them.


    The vibrant palette reflects Mexican culture and the materials are earthy with terracotta floors and timber screens.


    Large facade windows fold back to reveal the street to the customer and the customer to the street.


    This supported the 'come on in' vibe where everyone is welcome, a proper community restaurant where you can chill with your friends or family.
